Community Input

We invite written input as part of the STARS Workshop to complement workshop discussions

Contributors are asked to follow the provided template:

• STARS Input Template: word, google docs

All submitted input will be considered, but we strongly encourage concise and collaborative one-page submissions using this template.

Timeline:

• Input portal open: March 14, 2025

• April 4, 2025: STARS Workshop #1: PROs and S&T gaps

• April 28, 2025: STARS Workshop #2: Strategy Elements

• July 29-30, 2025: STARS Workshop #3: Summary and Closeout

Papers submitted after April 28th will still be considered in developing the final report report,  but will be too late for discussion in the Virtual Workshops.

Specific input is being sought on the following topics:

1. Priority Research Opportunities (PROs) for the next 10 years

2. Strategies and roadmaps for realization of the PROs

We ask that all input address relevant developments in US stellarator program since the report on Stellarator Research Opportunities (STELLCON Report) and consider the context of the following cross-cutting strategy elements:

• Innovation Through Public Investment

• Private Program: Milestones and Needs

• International Collaborations

• Long-pulse Tokamak Crossover
