Han Htoon is a scientist (Level 5) at the Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies, Los Alamos National Laboratory. He has led multiple LDRD, DOE BES, NNSA MSIPP, and NIH projects as PI or Co-PI level and managed ~$ 20M of research funding over past 10 year period. He was recently awarded LANL Fellow research prize (2019) and selected as the fellow of American Physical Society (2017) for the research accomplishments in elucidating optical properties and electronic structures of quantum dots and single wall carbon nanotubes, development of novel, single nanostructure, optical spectroscopy/imaging techniques, and device integration of optical nanomaterials. Han Htoon have authored more than 160 peer reviewed publications that include 14 Nature family Journals, 16 Nano Lett., 20 ACS Nano and 11 Phys. Rev. Lett. He earned an h-index of 56 and cited more than 12,500 times. Some of his recent noteworthy accomplishments include: (1) Development of in situ optical feedback for high-yield deterministic implantation of quantum defects (2) demonstration of three new types of 2D quantum light emitters capable of operating in technologically important telecommunication bands and (3) Realization of chiral quantum light emitters via localization of magnetic proximity interaction in strain engineered WSe2/NiPS3 heterostructures.
