SEED2STEM: Planting the Future of Education is a European project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme (KA220-YOU) that empowers youth workers to integrate STEM tools and sustainable agriculture into their work with young people—especially those with fewer opportunities. By combining innovation, technology, and environmental awareness, SEED2STEM is cultivating the next generation of thinkers, makers, and green innovators.
Equip youth workers with engaging, STEM-based educational tools
Make agriculture and sustainability relatable through digital learning
Enhance the skills and employability of disadvantaged youth
Foster environmental responsibility through technology
In Europe today, youth unemployment remains a pressing challenge—especially for young people with fewer opportunities due to social, economic, or geographic barriers. At the same time, agriculture and environmental sustainability are undergoing rapid transformation driven by technology, yet these fields struggle to attract and retain young talent.
Meanwhile, there is a widening gap between what young people learn and the skills demanded in future-facing industries, particularly in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Many youth workers lack access to up-to-date, engaging, and accessible tools that connect STEM to everyday realities—such as food production, sustainability, and climate action.
SEED2STEM addresses this by equipping youth workers with innovative educational resources that use agriculture as a gateway to STEM learning. By blending programming, IoT, and green practices into hands-on activities, the project makes abstract tech concepts tangible and relevant—empowering young people to explore meaningful career paths while fostering digital and environmental literacy.
Empowering the next generation of innovators in agriculture and technology.
