Hello Fifth Grade Families,
This is just a reminder that we will be hosting an optional informational parent meeting about our overnight trip to Tumalo State Park on April 27th and 28th. The meeting will be held this Thursday, March 31st from 7:30 AM-8:00 AM at PBCCS in the counseling center. This meeting is for parents only; the students will have supervision in their classrooms.

Spring Student-led Conferences
April 6 & 7
Conferences will be scheduled from 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM on both Wednesday, April 6 and Thursday, April 7 for 30 minutes.
All conferences will be scheduled in-person at PBCCS. If you would like to make other arrangements, please let me know at your earliest convenience.

2021-22 Statewide Testing
This spring, students in grades 3-8 will have the opportunity to participate in state assessments. These assessments are in English Language Arts and Math, and Science for 5th and 8th grade students. More information on these assessments can be found here.
State law permits parents and adult students to annually opt-out of Oregon’s statewide summative tests by submitting the form. Download the opt-out form here.

5th Grade Spring Overnight Trip

Greetings 5th grade Families!
Mark your calendars for the 5th Grade Overnight Field Trip! The 5th graders will be going to Tumalo State Park on April 27th-April 28th. This amazing opportunity is available to our students through funds from the Exercise-a-thon and the contributions to the Place-Based Excursion Fund. We are very excited for these incredible opportunities for our students, and thankful for the PBCCS community for making them possible!
If you are interested in volunteering as a chaperone for this trip, please email me and take a moment to fill out this form. Mrs. Foley (our Family and Student Services Coordinator) will be in contact with you about next steps for the volunteer process. We have limited space for chaperones so if we have more interest than spots available, we will do a lottery.
We will be hosting a virtual parent meeting in late March to give an overview of the trip. We will discuss the agenda for the trip, packing list, student behavior expectations and chaperone needs. I will send out the exact dates and times for that in the next few weeks.
As your child’s trip date approaches, additional information will be sent home to assist you in the planning and preparation for the trip. As questions arise or if you have concerns about your child's participation in the trip, please contact us to set up a meeting. The last two years have taught us to be ready for the unexpected. If our trip plans need to change or be modified you will be the first to know. We are looking forward to this trip and feel fortunate that we are able to offer such exciting experiences for our students!
