2025 Review
Year in Review...
This year the Central Coast Good Fire Fair got started in the morning with opening remarks from Santa Cruz County Supervisor Justin Cummings. Booths from all of the participants were set up in the Lot 1 picnic area along with Kid Zone which remained open with fire behavior learning activities all day. The first test burn operation got underway around 10an which got started with a blessing, song, and introduction of the fire by Kanyon "Coyote Woman" of Indian Canyon Ranch. Ignitions were spread through half the burn unit from the introduced fire. Meaningful conversations and freebies continued at the booth area with a fire truck to climb around in and Venezuelan arepas from the Pana food truck. State Parks led walks through the popular Old Grove Loop Trail and at 1pm spread fire to the second half of the burn unit. If you were in the right place at the right time, you may have even spotted Callie the Quail greeting visitors. Come visit us us next year at Henry Cowell State Park 🔥🌲🌱
