Early College for ME - University of Maine System

Programs for high school students to enroll in college courses. Students earn both college and high school credit when they successfully complete the course. High school students who enroll in early college courses are more likely to enroll in college, have higher grades, and have a better chance of earning a college degree.

Finance Authority of Maine

Administers the state’s higher education finance programs. Through a variety of loan, grant and scholarship programs, FAME helps Maine students and families meet the costs associated with higher education. FAME also oversees an extensive outreach and counseling program that is designed to encourage young people to aspire to and pursue higher education. FAME is also the administrator for the State’s Section 529 Plan – the NextGen College Investing Plan®.

HEATH Resource Center at the National Youth Transitions

Online clearinghouse on postsecondary education for individuals with disabilities. Since 2000, the HEATH Resource Center has served as a national clearinghouse on postsecondary education for individuals with disabilities, managed by The George Washington University Graduate School of Education and Human Development. Now, The HSC Foundation has partnered with The George Washington University to expand the content of this resource and to designate it as the official site of The HSC Foundation's National Youth Transitions Center.

Maine Administrators of Services for Children with Disabilities

(MADSEC) Serves as a resource for Maine schools and agencies who serve exceptional children. Advocates for the right of all students to receive a free and appropriate public education. Provide support to our members, opportunities for professional growth to Maine educators, and leadership in shaping policies and practices which impact the quality of education for children with disabilities.

Pacer's National Parent Center on Transition and Employment

Provides assistance and support to parents, youth, and professionals on transition topics. Assists youth with disabilities to find success in postsecondary education, employment, and life in the community.

Portland Adult Education

Mission to inspire lifelong learning in a culturally diverse community. Programs for Portland area adult learners include affordable classes in English language, job skills and enrichment. Also academic prep for HiSet and Accuplacer tests, and earning credit for high school diploma.
