Every Friday, you can listen to Ms. Genre read the first chapter of a great book from our library. You can see the full list by clicking on the stack of books to the left!


If you can't get what you're looking for in our school library, visit the Portland Public Library online. They have all of the MSBAs! Through our new SEED program, you can now use your student ID to have full access to their eBook Library. Click below to get started.

Ducksters is a kid-friendly website with a wealth of information about a variety of subjects. Audio versions in a human voice are available by clicking the player at the bottom of the page. Source citation support available. No sign-in required.

Get Epic is currently an open-access resource for students in our district. Epic features eBooks at a variety of reading levels along with the option for audible books. A sign-in will be provided by your classroom teacher.

Unite for Literacy is an award-winning resource that provides access to books for early readers. Readings are available in a variety of languages, with audio provided on demand by clicking. Many nonfiction texts available. No sign-in required.


Storyline Online is an award-winning resource that provides celebrity readings of popular picture books. No sign-in required.


The International Children's Digital Library features free eBooks in many languages. While many of the books are most appropriate for advanced readers, it is a good resource for family readings. Access is free.


The Spanish Experiment features children's audio books read in Spanish with English subtitles. This is an excellent source for native Spanish speakers as well as anyone trying to learn Spanish. No sign-in required.

Newsela features up-to-date newspaper articles. Lexile levels can be adjusted based on reader's need. Sign-in required via Google. Newsela is a powerful website that offers many other options, but since we are a k-5 school, only a few options are available to us at this time.
