Recital FAQ
Will there be dress rehearsals for the Winter Performances?
We won't have any stage rehearsals for these shows. We're confident students will be great without formal rehearsals, as our winter performances are more casual than our June Recitals.
How do I buy Tickets, and how much do they cost?
Our Winter performances are FREE! We are so happy to have found a way to give our dancers a professional quality experience, while keeping costs for families at an absolute minimum.
Can I invite friends and family?
Absolutely! We are keeping our shows as small as possible, to allow for more room for invited guests. We would love for our dancers to perform to a packed house, so invite away! Please be aware that the house might be full.
Can I reserve seating for my family in advance?
All seating will be first-come, first served, and seating will be allowed starting 30 minutes before each show. We'll need to clear out the audience in between each show, so please don't plan on saving seats between shows.
How long are the performances?
All of our Winter Performances should be about 45 minutes long.
Do I have to stay for the entire show, even if my dancer has already performed?
YES. All dancers are kept safely during the entirety of each show, and will be onstage at the end for a finale. We want to have a full audience for each entire show, so that dancers at the end of a show have just as large and enthusiastic a crowd as the beginning.
How early should I arrive for my dancers performance?
Dancers can be checked in as early as 20 minutes before their show, and should be checked in no later than 10 minutes before their show. Please don't arrive earlier than 20 minutes before your showtime, as we might still be finishing up our previous show. Our performance space is small and tight, so we can't have crossover audience members.
Should my child arrive in costume, or can they get dressed at the Theatre?
All dancers should ARRIVE ready to perform. We will have dressing rooms, and backstage volunteers to help those students who need to change between dances - please make your costume changes as minimal as possible. There will not be time/space for dancers to change into their 1st outfit, so all dancers need to arrive ready to perform.
When my child is not dancing, can they sit in the audience with me?
NO. For safety reasons, ALL dancers will remain backstage during the ENTIRE performance. Our backstage staff and volunteers need to know where all dancers are at all times, and there will be no mechanism for early release - NO EXCEPTIONS.
Should I provide snacks for my child?
All dancers should be well fed before they arrive for their performance. We will have water and emergency snacks backstage for those dancers who will need them. However, because we don't want to run the risk of spills and stains on our costumes, eating while in costume must be kept to a minimum.
