Behaviour & Expectations

At Outwood Academy Portland we have a commitment to our community that we will not tolerate any disruption to learning or behaviour which is unkind or harmful to others. For this reason we have a "Zero Tolerance" approach to disruption and poor behaviour. Our staff and pastoral team ensures that all students are supported to meet our high expectations for behaviour and conduct, with our systems supporting teachers and students to experience disruption free learning in all of their lessons, experience safe and calm communal areas and be treated with respect at all times.

Our core Values

Kindness - We are compassionate. We are respectful, polite and courteous at all times. We treat others as we expect to be treated. We are motivators and exemplify positive attitudes.

Pride - We give our best every day and we are deeply proud of our achievements. We are honest and take responsibility for our actions. We show integrity and have the courage to do the right thing.

Resilience - We understand that success comes through hard work. We are ambitious and remain positive so that we have the strength to persevere. We never give up. We do what it takes for as long as it takes.

At Outwood Academy Portland we expect exceptional behaviour and conduct. We expect students to adhere to and follow The Portland Way at all times, we expect parents/carers to support the Academy in making sure their child meets Academy expectations and we expect a consistent approach to behaviour management from all members of staff.
