This round of Book Clubs (fiction) is called Getting Into Series. The goal is to understand basic story elements and characters' motivations, how those things relate to the meaning of the story, solve for new vocabulary, and understand text features/structures (title, chapter headings, cover, illustrating). Students will also compare stories and authors.
Decide on the number of pages or chapters to read for each meeting
This can be part of your 30 minutes (or more) of reading each night
Complete every response each week in order to participate in the Book Celebration and Friday Fun
Bring your materials back and forth to school every day!
Read every night! You will need to bring any Book Club materials back and forth to school each day.
A variety of fiction and non fiction novels and articles will be read throughout the year. Other Units of Study can be found under the Reading/Writing tab.
Jon Muth and Chris Van Allsburgh are my favorite author/illustrators and we will be reading and studying their work early in the year.
