Writing
Ethos
Students encounter and attack different writing prompts, purposes, and audiences each school day.
Write to Sources (AKA Analytical Writing)- During reading instruction, students will respond to the texts that they are reading in a RTT (response to text) format.
Genre Writing- Students learn to respond appropriately to various genre-specific tasks (opinion/argumentative, informational/expository, and narrative).

Analyzing the prompt is a process teachers lead students through to help them make sense of the writing topic. It can be used for any time of writing where students are writing to a prompt or responding to directions.
