Teachers and Staff

What does a Dual Language Teacher Do?

We...

  • create bilingual classroom environments that ensure learning and personal growth for every student.

  • motivate students to develop the skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for becoming independent and responsible global citizens.

  • serve as bilingual role models to our students and their families.

  • advocate for our students at a variety of levels.

  • help instill a sense of pride in our students towards their diverse backgrounds.

  • establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.

  • believe in our students and help them believe in themselves.

Our DL teachers know how to work hard and be grateful!

Our nontenured teachers are committed to growing as professionals as they attend this year's New Teacher Institute where they have a chance to collaborate with colleagues from across the district as they grow their pedagogical skills!

Teachers at JFK Elementary School bring cultural foods to their first Friendsgiving Potluck Lunch!
