To help students be better than their past selves while they become kind, active, engaged, and knowledgeable citizens of their world.

2nd hour: Algebra 1 (8:30-9:25)
3rd hour: Algebra 1 (9:30-10:25)
4th hour: Algebra 1 (10:30-11:17)
5th hour: Plan (11:57-12:47)
6th hour: IB Math AISL (12:52-1:42)
7th hour: Seminar (1:46-2:40)
Extra Help
Students in need of extra help are first encouraged to speak up and ask questions in class. Students with seminar have the ability to join a seminar proctored by a Math teacher or go to a PACK room to get additional help. Students can also plan a time with Ms. Callen to go over class material before school if planned ahead. I'm always willing to make time, but I do need time to plan and prepare for that in advance.
Short Bio
I grew up in Vicksburg Michigan and after Graduating from Vicksburg High School I attended Western Michigan University. I Graduated from WMU with a bachelor of science in April of 2019. I have a Major in Secondary Education Mathematics, and a minor in Secondary Education English, and American Sign Language Studies, and was selected as the Presidential Scholar from the department of Teaching, Learning, and Educational Studies. I have completed internships at Three Rivers High School, Mattawan High School, and Portage Central High School, and have had additional experience teaching at Vicksburg Middle School, Vicksburg High School, Plainwell High School, Comstock Middle School, Linden Grove Middle School, Portage Northern High School and Loy Norrix High School.
Currently
I work at Portage Northern High School in the Math department. I began working here as an At Risk Paraprofessional in their Directed Learning Room (DLR) in December of 2018. During the last week of my final internship in 2019, I accepted a full time math teaching position and have been here ever since! GO HUSKIES
My Interests
Aside from teaching, I would say my biggest interest lies with traveling. I really enjoy going on road trips and exploring our nations national parks (My favorite is Zion!) I also really enjoy running, and playing soccer. I am coming up on my first year anniversary with my husband (09.24.23) and a new mom to two super energic pup, Bowie and GG. Looking forward to another great year! #PACKstrong
