It was an exciting Monday with the beautiful weather and the excitement around the solar eclipse. Students did a wonderful job during this rare experience. Thank you to our staff and families for reminding them of the importance of listening to their teachers and the safety protocols to help make this a successful day. We appreciate your support!
This afternoon you should have received a survey from Superintendent Bielang. Thank you for taking the time to fill this out. We use this survey to help celebrate our successes and create action plans for improvement. Survey: Portage Public Schools – Parent/Caregiver Experience Survey

Information regarding the Guardian/Caregiver Input Forms (hard copy) available in the office.
Our staff works very hard to create classrooms that are balanced behaviorally, academically and socially. All Moorsbridge Elementary teachers incorporate best practices into their daily classroom routines, procedures and teaching styles. We welcome your input regarding class placement for your child. Please note that we are not able to accept requests for particular teachers. If a particular teacher is named on this form, we will respectfully request that you re-submit your input form. Please do not rely on a verbal conversation with your current teacher for input to be honored, these conversations do not always get relayed in a timely manner. These forms are due in hard copy format in the office by Friday, April 26th, 2023. Once the class placement process begins, it will be more difficult to consider input. Thank you!!

April Positive Character Trait: Empathy
-The desire to help someone who's in distress
-The ability to share someone else’s feelings
-We care about others, treat them with kindness, and feel a strong desire to help people in need
-You think about what other people might be feeling and make decisions based on their feelings.
Arrival/Drop off: A reminder that students should not be dropped off until 8:20 as this is when we'll have adult supervision out front. Breakfast entry is at 8:20 as well. The first bell to enter the building rings at 8:30 and the tardy bell at 8:35. Entry into the main portion of the building locks at 8:35. If the front doors are closed we ask that you come into the office to sign students in if they are tardy in the morning.
ELECTRONIC DEVICES Students are not permitted to use their cell phones during school hours 8:30 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. Cell phones are to be turned off and stored in the student's locker or backpack at all times. We encourage parents to contact the school office to get messages to their students and refrain from texting or calling the student directly. Students who need to call home during school hours are to come to the office and use the school phone. Students who violate this expectation will have their device put in the office where a parent/guardian may pick it up. This expectation goes for smartwatches and any personal electronic device that has communication and recording capabilities.
We NEED your input! Please take this quick survey to give us feedback on PTO and CIRCLES groups.
Great news! Our school has partnered with Smile Programs…the mobile dentists to offer in-school dental care. Sign up your child today at www.myschooldentist.com.
Even better, dental care is usually at no cost to you. All insurance is accepted including
Medicaid and CHIP. For those without insurance, a low cost self-pay option is available.
