Welcome to Sculpture and Ceramics

What an exciting semester we have ahead of us here at Portage Central High School! In our Sculpture and Ceramics Studio this year we will be working on mastering several techniques as well as making original works of art. 

These include: pinch, coil, hard slab, and drape (also known as soft slab). You will also be learning to throw on the wheel throughout the course of the semester. 

After we have mastered these techniques by making samples and practice projects, we will spend the duration of the semester designing and creating original works of art using these techniques. Along the way we will learn other ways of working with clay, including using different types of finishes, as well as working with other types of sculptural materials.
