The mission of The Portage Current is to empower students with a voice and a platform to share their thoughts and research on world and local topics that they deem important. We believe in the power of student journalism to inform, inspire, and spark meaningful conversations within our school community.

Through our publication, we provide opportunities for students to develop their writing, reporting, and storytelling skills while upholding the values of truth, integrity, and respect. We encourage diverse perspectives and original thought, ensuring that all students have a space to express themselves, whether through news articles, informative essays, or investigative reports.

Our goal is to foster a culture of curiosity and critical thinking while amplifying student voices. By giving young writers the opportunity to reach an audience, we aim to strengthen our school community and celebrate the creativity and perspectives of our peers.
