Ensure they are aware of what is available in terms of support and resources and are realistic in terms of setting objectives and agreeing their development opportunities.
Prepare some initial responses to inform the discussion.
Ensure that your discussion includes all parts of the online form.
Ensure you allow the Reviewee to do most of the talking and not to interrupt or talk over them.
Ensure you have downloaded and read all attached sources of evidence, where present, to help inform how objectives have been met.
Encourage Reviewees to think about their achievements and understand the important contribution that they make.
Ensure at the end of the discussion that clear actions are agreed with reasonable timescales. This includes a future date to follow up on the next year’s objectives that have been set.
Ensure you listen effectively and allow the Reviewee to speak openly and honestly.
As a Reviewee you should:

Understand that it is your responsibility to do the majority of the talking within the meeting, this is your opportunity to speak openly and honestly about your work.
Ensure you have provided and referenced all attached sources of evidence, where relevant, to help evidence how objectives have been met.
Reflect and recognise where you are adding value.
Think about achievements and understand the important contribution that you make, irrespective of your role.
Ensure at the end of the discussion, with your Reviewer, that clear actions are agreed with reasonable timescales. This includes a future date to follow up on the next year’s objectives that have been set, or any personal development that requires action outside of the meeting.
