A significant amount of work has been undertaken since the first year of online PDRs in 2019 to further improve the process. There has been continuous improvements to the PDR process for all cycles, ensuring it supports the University community and the delivery of our strategic ambitions.
This includes:
Improved support and guidance on PDR web pages, including improved FAQs
Fewer mandatory fields
Improved reporting and system improvements
An additional question reflecting the University's commitment to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
Themed professional development requests to aid reporting
Reduction of mandatory fields to improve flow and efficiency and ease the finalisation process
Rollover of Professional Development Requests from previous year
Key Strategic Imperatives added to PDR webpages and referenced in PDR Forms.
The PDR cycle has been extended to run from 1st April to the last working day in December
Further reduction of mandatory fields and a reduction in the number of fields to complete
Significant improvements to the guidance and questions on the Research Staff PDR Form in collaboration with Research & Innovation Services
An additional question relating to the completion of core training
Additional guidance on the PDR webpages relating to responding to the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion question.
