The University has a team of SVLO's (Sexual Violence Liaison Officer) who are dedicated to responding to students that have experienced sexual misconduct. It's important that students are given choice and control when they've experienced sexual misconduct, their wishes for if and how they want to report their experiences must be respected. This may mean that at times a student doesn't want to report their experience.
SVLO's work in a trauma-informed way which means no student is forced to report their experience or share their story. SVLO's support students so they can share their experience if they want to, in a private setting and can access the resources they need to feel safe and heard.
If a student wants to contact an SVLO to find out what support is available (wellbeing, academic and sexual misconduct support) and what reporting options are available, they can do this via the Report and Support form. An SVLO will then be in touch to offer a time to meet the student.
