We all know that 'students don't read emails', so how do we get through to them about the extra curricular (but essential) things they need to engage with such as employability skills and work experience opportunities, when then main way to communicate is via an already overflowing inbox?
For the past 5 years, staff in various placement offices around the university have used WhatsApp to aid communication and engagement with students who opt in - this has lead to swift uptake of application opportunities and deeper rapport building.
This talk will explore strategies, best practice and case studies of utilising WhatsApp as a comms channel to effectively engage with students.
