Embedding Employability into the
Curriculum at the University of Winchester
Curriculum at the University of Winchester
The University of Winchester have strategically prioritised embedding employability into the curriculum and core student experience since their publication of their Graduate Employability and Higher Study Strategy in 2020. This presentation gives an overview of activities led by the University's Careers and Opportunities Hub where Liz George (Careers Manager) and Mike Head (Placements Manager) have supported courses to overtly embed employability and employment skills into the mandatory curriculum. This presentation gives a case study of how the service has also developed its portfolio of activities and graduate focused activities to make employability and the careers service at the heart of the student experience. Importantly, the team will speak on how employability is becoming structurally unavoidable during the course approval and reapproval process, to ensure all programmes support the Graduate Outcomes in a university with a substantial humanities portfolio.
