Can’t tell your REF from your TEF?
Confused by the avalanche of university acronyms?
Ever wonder exactly why universities work the way they do?
Then this is the session for you! (it might be even if you’ve never wondered those things)
This session is will benefit colleagues who are new to the university and those who are new to higher education entirely. We will be focusing on identifying and exploring the key policies and practices that will affect your everyday life as a member of academic staff. This is a chance to get to grips with the nuts and bolts of what underpins being a lecturer and ask ‘what does that mean?’ about anything and everything. We will also be sharing practice from colleagues joining from other institutions and unpacking the particular quirks in the nooks and crannies of Portsmouth.
Session Aims
The aims of the session are to:
Understand the national policy and funding arrangements for higher education
Reflect on what the national picture means for Portsmouth and us as individual practitioners
Share practice as a multi-disciplinary group about experiences in higher education
