Blended and Connected as a teaching approach launched over a year ago. During this time, the progress that the University made in terms of its digital provision accelerated at an unimaginable pace. The necessity of online teaching rocketed the digital capabilities of our educational community. New tools were learnt at lightning speed, curriculum was repurposed, exams delivered at a distance and a vast library of quality online learning assets were built. We can all agree that we are in a new era of Higher Education as a result of the last 18 months.
But what next?
In this session colleagues will be invited to look back, review the individual and collective progress made with the digital provision over this time and share moments of reflection and consolidation. Alongside a massive clap on the back.
Session Aims
The aims of this session are to:
Identify what we have learnt
Discuss what does the student voice tell us?
Clarify how our teaching has been transformed
Identify what is the long term impact of this shift
This will be an interactive session, colleagues will be invited to share their own experiences of teaching online during the pandemic. We will examine student feedback from module and course level in order to bring learning in the pandemic to life and understand the experience that our returning students bring with them. The session will set the context for the rest of the mini-fest and provide a contextual grounding for the programme of workshops.
