Why Attend?
In this session you will explore how generative AI tools can be meaningfully integrated into assessment tasks to enhance student assessment literacy and alignment.
This interactive session explores the implications and opportunities of generative AI in assessment and feedback. With students already using AI tools to brainstorm, draft, and reflect, how can we ethically and creatively redesign assessment to remain inclusive, authentic, and future-facing? Drawing on current sector guidance and examples from across disciplines, participants will analyse existing assessments, consider risks and affordances, and begin to design AI-aware or AI-integrated assessments that align with learning outcomes. This session builds on prior exploration of prompt engineering and activity design, bringing assessment into constructive alignment with the evolving learning landscape.
You will need to bring a device (laptop or smartphone) with you to the session, as it will be required for activities.
By the end of this session, you will:
Evaluate the ‘vulnerability’ of current assessment tasks to Generative AI
Apply design frameworks to rework an existing assessment or develop a new, AI-aware alternative.
Reflect on how incorporating AI in assessment design can support learner development, integrity, and digital capability.
