I am Associate Professor (Reader) in Banking and Finance at Southampton Business School, University of Southampton, where I also serve as DBA Programme Director.
My research explores how institutional forces - formal (regulation, governance) and informal (ideology, culture) - shape the behaviour of financial institutions and corporate actors. In recent years this has expanded into sustainability in corporate settings, with policy-facing work that has appeared in media coverage.
Furthermore, I am an Honorary Academic Fellow at the University of St Andrews Centre for Responsible Banking and Finance and have held visiting positions at institutions such as King's Business School (UK) and University of Sydney Business School (AUS). I am a Non-Executive Director (Trustee) at Aspex Gallery and currently serve as Associate Editor at the International Journal of Finance and Economics and International Review of Financial Analysis.
Outside academia, I am enjoy long-distance running and am the founder of Harbour Reads — a small book club in the coastal village of Warsash, bringing together readers over monthly conversations about fiction and ideas.
