The winner of each award will receive a prize package of support, details will be announced on the night.

TRAVIS RALPH-DONALDSON

This award is for an individual/group developing a product or service. 

You don’t need to be registered but you may be looking to operate as a freelancer, sole trader, limited company (Ltd), charity, or CIC.

The winner of this award will be announced during the ceremony on 30th March.


Travis is a member of staff at the University of Portsmouth and Founder of Niter Ltd. Their product is a state-of-the-art gamified AI language pronunciation app with a wide range of applications.

ONE TO WATCH HIGHLY COMMENDED

ELLA ROFFEY

This award is for an individual/group developing a product or service. 

You don’t need to be registered but you may be looking to operate as a freelancer, sole trader, limited company (Ltd), charity, or CIC.

The winner of this award will be announced during the ceremony on 30th March.

Ella is a Graphic Design student at the University of Portsmouth and is currently undertaking a Self-Employment Placement. Ella is the Founder of Ella Roffey Graphic Designer providing a spectrum of affordable design services to small and start up businesses. 

JACK PERSEY

Starting your own business takes time, commitment and passion; this award recognises the hard work and impact you are making.

This award is for a registered business venture, including freelancers registered with HMRC, companies registered with Companies House, or social enterprises registered with the Charities Commission. 


Jack is a final year Law with Business student at the University of Portsmouth and founded Auto Accessory UK in 2021.   Auto Accessory offers bespoke automotive accessories, specialising in custom steering wheel design, providing fitting solutions across the UK.

RACHEL LOWE MBE

Rachel attended the University of Portsmouth between 2002 and 2006. Having gained MBE for services to business in 2009, Rachel is a serial entrepreneur and board games developer, best known perhaps for creating the best selling Destination series of games. She is the founder of Rachel Lowe Games and Puzzles, one of the leading games creators, specialising in creating and distributing licensed board games, jigsaw puzzles and card games. 


Rachel is a committed advocate for enterprise and entrepreneurship causes as well as an Entrepreneur in Residence with us here at The University of Portsmouth. Rachel supports students, alumni and staff in a myriad of ways and we are delighted to have her with us tonight to share her story.
