Poquoson Schools is offering a leadership cohort, Rising Tide, to eligible PCPS Leaders.
Who is eligible to apply for Rising Tide? A current PCPS leader who has completed at minimum of two years in one or more of the following positions:
Instructional or Reading Coaches
School Admin Interns
Teacher Mentors
SLT / Grade Level Chairs
Summer School Admin Intern
School Counselors
Licensed teachers pursuing a Masters in Administration/Leadership
The Rising Tide Leadership Academy is a one-year commitment centered on professional learning experiences that deepen participants’ understanding of themselves as leaders - their skills, knowledge, mindsets, and beliefs. Educators in this cohort will engage in meaningful, transformative opportunities that strengthen their capacity as system leaders and contributors to Poquoson City Public Schools.
Rising Tide participants will also apply their developing leadership skills by supporting and collaborating within the PCPS Mentoring Program for new teachers. Cohort members will attend all academy meetings, mentor-focused sessions, and complete tasks throughout the year as they grow their impact across the division.
