What is flexible instruction?
Flexible Instruction is a way for our PreK program to continue learning even when school is closed. If a closure occurs, we will share age-appropriate activities and resources for at-home grown-ups to work on with their preschooler. These activities are designed to be fun, engaging, and aligned with our curriculum goals, supporting your child's growth and development while learning from home.
What will it look like?
Our PreK Flexible Instruction is designed to be stress free and easy to follow. We’ll share links to content that aligns with what we’re learning in class, favorite movement and music activities, and more.
The suggested activities won’t require any special supplies but will need adult supervision to guide your child.
How long will it take?
Each activity is designed to last no longer than 15 minutes, but we encourage you to let your child be your guide. If they’re focused and having fun, feel free to keep going! If they seem bored or frustrated, it’s okay to wrap it up and try again later.
Do we have to do it?
Our Flexible Instruction activities are completely optional. There’s no need to worry about completing every activity, especially during a sudden school closure when care and supervision at home may look different.
These activities will be here to add fun to your family’s day if they fit into your routine. If they create challenges, feel free to skip them – no pressure!
Where will I find the activities?
When the need arises, we’ll provide a dedicated area within this Flexible Instruction page with everything you need for Flexible Instruction. This page will include links to:
Student attendance
Suggested activities
Videos and other resources
Everything will be easily accessible in one place to support your family during at-home learning.
