Conference Theme:

The goal of education is to foster skills and knowledge in an individual. The process of teaching and learning is transforming and evolving with the human evolution nevertheless without compromising the ultimate goal of education. The rapid developments in information and communication technology in the recent years have resulted in incredible changes in the educational landscape in different forms like mobile learning, ubiquitous learning, synchronous learning, social learning etc. On the other hand, the infamous distance learning in education has eased the mandate for the learner's physical presence at the place of leaming fostering the physical separation of the teachers and learners. Due to the sudden and tremendous impact of the unexpected outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the traditional classroom teaching was transformed overnight and the concept of online and distance learning gained popularity. But one cannot deny that the distance and online teaching-learning paradigm was slowly and steadily growing even long before this pandemic. Parallelly, discussion among various stakeholders of education was around making education foster the 'becoming' of an individual. The National Education Policy 2020, aims at this vision of making an individual achieve his fullest potential and building an impartial and equitable society and thereby promoting national development.

On a wholesome, the education scenario is tremendously changing and so is the case of technology. Hence it becomes essential to thoroughly analyse requirements of teaching and learning and how well it can be satisfied by the technological solutions. The questions regarding the avenues, opportunities and shortcomings of online and distance education and how technology could tackle them and the extent to which emerging technologies of online and distance learning resolve equity and access issue needs attention. As the National Education Policy (NEP), aims at the holistic development of the Indian education system, it needs constant and vital interventions from the education and technology to achieve its objective of ensuring high quality and accessible education across the country. The social and economic implications with respect to online and distance learning is another area to be focused. Also, the proposed implementation of NEP from the academic year 2022-23 also warrants discussions in different dimensions. We need to analyse how far these challenges are addressable in multiple perspectives.

Conference Objectives:

  • To provide a forum for discussion among teachers, academicians, researchers, social scientists and practitioners for addressing various issues and solutions related to on line and distance education

  • To suggest pedagogical methods for recognizing, identifying, and strengthening the unique capabilities of each student and promoting their holistic development in both academic and non-academic spheres.

  • To populate computational tools and technology solutions that might enable the content creation, content delivery, assessment and scoring.

  • To provide an opportunity for practitioners to exchange their views in the form of case studies.

  • To share ideas and comments on the economic, social and psychological and technological implications on the transformation of the existing and new education policy.


Scope of the Conference:

  • General Issues and solutions related to ODL (Online and Distance Leaming) with the focus on incorporating the recommendations of NEP 2020.

  • Technological solutions for facilitating the teaching learning process in general and also while implementing NEP 2020.

  • Educational and pedagogical practices, innovative methods, success stories, case studies with respect to Adult & continuing education, life­long learning.

  • Leaming theories, educational standards with respect to NEP 2020.

  • Social and Economic implications with respect to ODL and implementation of NEP 2020 are also of interest.
