Bean Growing Questions
How long do you think it will take to grow?
Has it grown yet? What has changed?
What does it look like?
Are there any leaves yet?
Can you see the brown seed, the white sprouts and the green leaves? When did we plant the seed?
Can you count how many days it has been growing for?

Use this diagram to help draw your own bean life cycle diagram. Your diagram may have more or less stages. Add sentences to describe what is happening at each stage. The video will help you with specific words to help give good descriptions of what is happening.

Poster Example - Whaea Cherie has included a number of things that she thinks represents her home town. She has include birds that are common in Kaitaia, avacados to represent the avocardo farms, Cape Reinga, Kauri trees, Paperore Marae and a Māori carving that is significant to Awanui. The blue and aqua background represents the beaches in summer.

Taha wairua – your spiritual health (your values and traditions – like learning from your grandparents or parents)
Taha hinengaro – your mental and emotional health (like being with friends, being active and learning new things)
Whenua – your connection to your land and your roots (this could be where you are from or where you are living)
Use your whare as a guide to help you stay centered. Write down what you’ve done recently to strengthen your whare. Which wall does it belong to? Write it here!
