The students completed questions in their drama journals which inquired about their favorite drama games and skits from the previous year. They recorded a weekly theatre vocabulary word of the week and used illustrations to interpret the meaning.
In October, the class read and performed several scripts with Halloween themes including Monsters Anonymous, A Ghostly Rap and There’s a Werewolf in Town. The students discussed the difference between dialogue that involves two or more actors and a monologue with one actor speaking. The class wrote and performed original monster monologues.
The students were also introduced to the art of voice over work. They watched a clip from the animated film, A Nightmare Before Christmas and then a clip with the actors performing the scene live.
