BLOOMING SPRING
The tulips are budding.
The daffodils are bursting.
The robins are building their nests.
The sky is bright blue,
and the apple tree’s blooming.
Oh, I love Springtime the best!
THIS WEEK WE:
Our life sized igloo is almost complete!!!
Continue to discuss habitats and chart our desert facts.
Our caterpillars are now in their chrysalis! Maybe after the long weekend, an amazing metamorphosis will have occurred and we will enter next Tuesday and welcome butterflies! All chrysalis have been moved into their butterfly nursery.
We have been working very hard on shapes, how many corners they have, and what a simple shape can be turned into through creativity and imagination. The children have enjoyed identifying shapes within our class and transforming simple forms into detailed pictures, animals, buildings, and other meaningful creations. The children have created their own shape books.
NEXT WEEK WE:
Finalize all Parent Night activities and prepare ourselves for an amazing night full of exploration and pride! PLEASE NOTE: We ask that you take some time to visit both kindergarten classes as well as the art and spanish rooms. Maybe your child can walk you into the second grade classroom so you can meet their second grade buddy and see some of the wonderful work they have completed this year as well.
Discuss other animals that go through a metamorphosis and what habitat they can be found in.
Schedule a time to visit the kindergarten classes.
Begin to write notes to next year’s Pre K class regarding their year in Pre K. This should be “interesting!”
