Corporate Overview

Politeknik Maritim Sultan Nazrin Shah is led by Ts. Dr. Izwah binti Ismail (Director), supported by Ts. Hairi Haizri bin Che Amat (Deputy Director, Academic) and Encik Mohamad Azizan bin Kamaruddin (Deputy Director, Academic Support). As of April 2026, the institution is powered by 52 dedicated staff members (35 lecturers, 8 management, 7 academic support, and 2 MySTEP), comprising 35 men and 17 women committed to maritime excellence.

PMSN and it's History

Established in December 2016, PMSN began operations in Hutan Melintang before relocating to its permanent Bagan Datuk campus in December 2023. Key milestones include receiving its first Naval Architecture batch in 2017. The institution reached its historic pinnacle on November 20, 2025, with its official Proclamation by HRH the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.

Strategic Direction and Way Forward

PMSNS has established an enhanced Strategic Plan for 2026, anchored by eight (8) strategic pillars focused on governance efficiency, high TVET, and smart industry collaborations. Meticulously aligned with POLYCC KPI, ISO 21001, and CDIO standards, these initiatives support the National Education Plan (RPN) 2026-2035 to cultivate high-performing talent within a sustainable maritime learning ecosystem.

Academic Structure and Programmes Offered

PMSN academic operations are driven by the Department of Maritime Engineering Technology and the Department of Mathematics and General Studies. We offer three industry-aligned diploma programmes that are strategically designed to produce a highly skilled workforce for the global maritime sector; Diploma in Naval Architecture (DNA), Diploma in Marine Electrical Engineering Technology (DSE) & Diploma in Marine Construction Engineering Technology (DSC)

Official Achievement: Full MQA Accreditation

We are proud to announce that the Diploma in Naval Architecture (MQA/FA 18776) at Politeknik Maritim Sultan Nazrin Shah has been granted Full Accreditation by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), effective 29 April 2026. We remain committed to excellence, ensuring our students are equipped with the skills to lead and innovate.
