Kimberley Benson, Band Director

The 2023-24 school year will be Mrs. Benson's first year at Polk County High School and her seventeenth year teaching. Prior to coming to PCHS, she taught at Polk County Middle School, Clyde A. Erwin Middle School, and Norwayne Middle School. 

In addition to teaching at the middle school level, Mrs. Benson served as the assistant director for the Polk County High School Marching Cadets and the Erwin High School Warrior Pride Marching Band. Mrs. Benson maintains professional affiliations with the North Carolina Bandmasters Association, The North Carolina Music Educators Association, Women Band Directors International, and is an alumnae of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity. 

Mrs. Benson is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and has a Bachelors of Music with an emphasis in instrumental music education.  She was born and raised in Buncombe County, NC and attended T.C. Roberson High School. Mrs. Benson currently resides in Hendersonville, NC.
