Welcome to Westside Elementary! My name is Laurah Fannin, and I am proud to serve as an educator in Polk School District. I was born and raised in Polk County. I graduated from Rockmart High School in 2003 and the University of West Georgia in 2007 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I hold a Master's and Educational Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Nova Southeastern University, as well as Tier 1 Certification in Educational Leadership from the University of West Georgia.
This is my 17th year in education. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades. I have also served as an instructional technology specialist, an early intervention teacher and a gifted education teacher. I have a huge heart for students and teachers and love serving as the Assistant Principal at Westside!
I am married to Cody Fannin, an educator in Polk School District, and we have three children, Payton (14), Alivia (10), and Parker (5). In my spare time, I love to watch my children play sports, spend time with family, and love to read.
We are excited for this school year at Westside. If I can be of any assistance to you, please give me a call! I look forward to a fabulous school year.
