My name is Kristina Whitfield. I graduated from Rockmart High School. I have two children, Zaleigh and Declyn. I am engaged to Matt Wilkerson. I enjoy being outdoors and soaking up nature. We have a small farm where I love playing with all of the animals.
I graduated from the University of West Georgia in 2013 with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I also obtained my ESOL endorsement at that time. I have my Master's degree from Walden University in Early Childhood Reading and Mathematics.
This is my 13th year teaching and my 12th year at Westside. I have only ever taught ESOL. I am very excited to get the school year started and see all of the success each child makes.
My educational philosophy as an ESOL teacher is to focus on each student as an individual and his/her needs. I want to provide my students with a positive and safe learning environment. I believe in challenging students to help them achieve their highest potential. I think that having parental involvement is a key element to helping each child become successful. I believe that parents and teachers working together gives children the support that is needed to create success.
