One of my favorite things about each new school year is getting to know my students and allowing them to learn a little about me too.
After graduating from Cedartown High School in 2006, I then graduated from the University of West Georgia in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Health & Physical Education. I continued my education at Nova Southeastern University where I graduated with a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction in 2012. I am currently pursuing my Specialist degree from Piedmont University. Throughout my career, I have added on certifications and gained knowledge through my experiences in the classroom. My current certifications include Health and Physical Education, Middle Grades Math and Science, Gifted Education, Special Education, Tier 1 Leadership, and Google.
I started my career at Haralson County Middle School where I spent 8 years before returning home to Cedartown. I taught at Cedartown Middle School for 5 years and I am now in my second year at Cedartown High School. Throughout my career, I have coached softball, basketball, volleyball, and track, and I am currently the varisty girls cross country coach at Cedartown High School.
I spend the majority of my time outside of work with my daughter, Emery, who is now a 6th grader at Cedartown Middle School. I love playing and watching sports. I’m an avid Atlanta Braves fan & I love the Georgia Bulldogs. If I wasn’t a teacher, my dream job would be to be a sports broadcaster for ESPN!
