Mrs. Laura DeLong
Assistant Principal
Assistant Principal
I am honored to serve as Assistant Principal at Cherokee Elementary. With a passion for creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment, I am committed to helping our students grow both academically and socially. Becoming an educator is one of my proudest decisions, and I look forward to making a meaningful impact here at Cherokee.
I bring 20 years of experience in education, including 19 years in the classroom. I began my teaching career in 2004 after graduating from Kennesaw State University. In 2010, I earned a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College, followed by an educational leadership certification in 2025.
Outside of school, I’m the proud wife of my husband, Brady, and mom to three amazing boys—Easton (5th grade at CMS) and twins Wyatt and Bennett (3rd grade at CES).
It’s a true privilege to be part of the Cherokee family. I am grateful to work alongside such dedicated educators who pour their hearts into building strong relationships with students and inspiring them to become the best version of themselves. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if I can support you in any way. I’m looking forward to a fantastic year ahead!
