About Me

My name is Irma Arbuthnot and I teach 3^rd grade Math, Science, and Social Studies at Cherokee Elementary. I received my B.S. at Shorter University.

Philosophy of Teaching

It is my belief that all students can learn. I believe that classroom management skills are important so students will be provided a safe, engaging, and effective learning environment. I also believe that I should get to know my students, so I can identify the instructional techniques needed for each individual student; so they can reach their fullest potential. I believe that understanding not all students learn the same way or at the same pace, differentiation is a way to address a wide range of skills. I should identify the strengths and weaknesses of my students in order to best serve the diverse learners in my classroom.
