Welcome to music at Cherokee Elementary!
Class Overview:
It is our goal here to engage in effective music education that is exciting, collaborative, and creative. We are going to have fun here! I teach with students in mind, so it is my desire to develop an atmosphere where they are free to be the best young musicians they can be. We will learn the basics of music theory, music history, composition, and performance through active class discussions, captivating songs, and thoughtful activities. Meet your teacher:
Hello! My name is Maegan Womack, and I am beyond excited to be the music teacher at Cherokee Elementary! As a recent graduate of Shorter University with my Bachelor of Music in Music Education, I could not have asked for a better place to begin my teaching career. I am a seasoned musician, having participated in performaces and ensembles since elementary school and throughout my high school and college careers. My primary instruments are trumpet and piano, but I also enjoy to sing and am constantly expanding my musical expertise. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy watching movies, painting, and spending time with family and friends. I am an avid cat lover and have a passion for history, namely of the WWII era.
