About Me
My name is Amy Baker, and I am an Alternate Curriculum Standards teacher at Cedartown High School. I graduated from Polk County Schools (Cedartown), so I am happy to return home and give back to my hometown. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, and I love literacy and helping students become successful readers.
Preciously, I taught K-8 resource classes, served as an Assistant Principal, and worked as a Reading Specialist/Literacy Coach. I have two children at home, Joseph and Sydnie. I love to travel. (Currently 37/50 states!) At my house, college football is the go to sport...and we always yell "GO DAWGS!"

“I have a passion for teaching kids to become readers, to become comfortable with a book, not daunted. Books shouldn’t be daunting, they should be funny, exciting and wonderful; and learning to be a reader gives a terrific advantage.” - Roald Dahl
