I am an Assistant Professor in the School of Political Sciences at the University of Haifa. I am also a co-founder of the Political Behaviour Lab and a member of the Haifa Data Science Research Center (DSRC).

I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2019. My research focuses on religion, conflict, and citizen-state interactions in Israel and the Muslim world, combining big data approaches with experiments and in-depth interviews.

My work has been published in leading journals including the American Sociological Review, Political Behavior, Political Science Research Methods, and the Journal of Conflict Resolution. I can be contacted at mrfreed@poli.haifa.ac.il or found on Twitter.
