Since starting the role in 2015, Craig Hockenberry has overseen schools in Cleves, Addyston, and North Bend villages alongside Miami Township, totaling 2,400 students. Before starting his career, Mr. Hockenberry attended Mount St. Joseph University to pursue a bachelor of arts, following which he served as a teacher at Roosevelt Elementary for three years. While in the role, he also studied at Xavier University, which he graduated from in 1998 with a master of education administration. Over the following 15 years, Craig Hockenberry served as the principal of the Cincinnati-based Oyler School. During this time, he took the 800-student school labeled in academic emergency to a rating of continuous improvement. In addition, he received several awards during his time there, including the James N. Jacobs Award, as well as being named the Cincinnati Public Principal of the Year, both of which he received in 2010.
