Make sure you are eligible grade-wise. You MUST have a 2.0 or higher with no D’s or F’s currently.
Assuming you are eligible, you can apply for jobs any time.
You cannot request a work permit without knowing who your employer (or potential employer) is. If you get an interview and the employer asks you to bring a permit, you can fill out the form below at that time. Otherwise, you should fill out the form AFTER you have been offered the job, and before you work your first shift. Do not request a permit if you’re simply applying or thinking about applying.
You can request work permits at any time as long as you have read and followed steps 1 - 3.
If you are 17 or younger, you need a work permit from the school on file at your job. (even if you have graduated)
If you had a work permit during the last semester, you need to submit a request for a renewal at the start of this semester to continue working.
Your final grades for the previous grading period will determine your eligibility. You MUST have a 2.0 or higher with no D’s or F’s on your last report card, otherwise you will need to wait for the 5 week grade check.
