Programme Specific Outcomes
One of the principles of Gandhi's approach to curriculum and teaching methods in education was that he spoke of integrated curriculum and correlation in teaching different subjects, i.e. realizing that there is an interrelationship between all subjects. So it can be said about the subject of Education that it is a subject where concept about many subjects can be found like Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, and Sociology etc. Since education is a social process, many important issues related to social life have taken place in this subject, which has made education relevant to our lives.
Studying Education subject just sounds like knowing education itself. As a degree, students will learn about different aspects of education like-history, philosophy, cognitive psychology, sociology, economics of education, human development, statistics, guidance and counseling, mental hygiene, research methodology, teaching strategies, educational provision of special learners, environmental issues, value and ethics etc. i.e. it covered wide range of disciplines.
PO1. Develop the basic ideas and theoretical principles as well as practical knowledge in Education.
PO2. To inculcate peace in self and others and develop a positive attitude towards life, awareness, values, perspectives, and inclusiveness, increasing awareness of the rights, responsibility, and duties as citizen, administrator, manager, educator, teacher, and parent and making commitment to professional ethics and responsibilities.
PO3. To develop the basic knowledge of educational research, evaluation and measurement, fundamental statistical procedure and application, ICT skill, interpretation skill, technique involved in measurement and evaluation and to search for information on a specific topic in different ways.
PO4. To develop problem solving learning skill, observational skill, experiential learning, team work, critical thinking, communication, contemporary issues related to teaching-learning process, application, levels of teaching, time management, discipline, and self-management teaching-learning skill.
PO5. To build awareness about various social structure, culture, major socio, economical, historical, ethical issues facing the education system, historical background of education, present scenario and sustainability.
PO6. Realizing the nature of human behavior and development, problems of students in the learning environment, mental health issues, and adaptable strategies to the environment.
Higher education
Candidates who have interred this B.A course in Education (both Honours and General) may also do Post Graduation course in Education or a related Social science in research, theory, and policies of Education. After completion of P.G degree they can apply to the teachers training course like B.Ed and M.Ed or they may apply other higher degree like M.Phil or Ph.D .
