“We at Lincoln Junior High will provide a safe, encouraging environment where everyone achieves at high levels and develops the skills to become lifelong learners.”
It is hard to believe that we have reached the end of our first nine weeks! I am proud of the work our students and staff have done during the first quarter, and I appreciate the continued support of our Lincoln families.
We also wrapped up our annual World’s Finest Chocolate fundraiser on Friday with our Fundraiser Tailgate Party! Students who sold one box of chocolate earned one hour out of class to enjoy the party, while students who sold two or more boxes earned two hours. All of our student sellers received a prize for their hard work in helping raise funds to support Lincoln and the many activities and experiences we provide for our students. Several students also walked away with some great prizes from our Red Storm Cash Tornado! We had a great time celebrating our students, and I want to thank all of our Lincoln families for their support. Your participation makes a difference in the opportunities we can provide for our students!
This week, Lincoln also hosted our Fall Gala on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. This special event is a collaboration between our choir and Family and Consumer Science (FACS) programs. Guests enjoyed a wonderful dinner followed by entertainment from our talented choir students, while our FACS students prepared and served the meal. Our students did an outstanding job! A special thank you to Mrs. Derifield, our FACS teacher, and Mrs. Brandi Brennan, our choir teacher, for all of their planning and hard work to make this such a neat event. We are fortunate to have teachers who create meaningful opportunities for our students to learn, grow, and showcase their talents.
Next week is Fall Break, October 12–16, and there will be no school for students. I hope everyone enjoys some time with family and friends and has an opportunity to recharge before we begin our second nine weeks.
Our second nine weeks begins Monday, October 19. We will also hold our Student-Led Parent-Teacher Conferences on Tuesday, October 20. Conference times are 3:30–5:00 p.m. and 5:45–7:30 p.m. Report cards from the first nine weeks will be available during conferences.
Here are the conference locations:
7th Grade: Language Arts/Math in Rooms 111–112; Science/Social Studies in Rooms 211–212
8th Grade: Language Arts/Math in Rooms 102–103; Science/Social Studies in Rooms 202–203
Related Arts: Room 116
Report Card Tables: 7th Grade – DeLucenay; 8th Grade – Marquardt
We look forward to seeing our families on October 20th and continuing to work together to support each student's growth and success.
Thank you for a great first nine weeks! Have a safe and enjoyable fall break, and we will see everyone back at Lincoln on Monday, October 19th, ready to get started on the next nine weeks. Have a great break, Red Storm!
Mr. Gault
We are excited to welcome families to our Parent-Teacher Conferences on Tuesday, October 20! Conferences will be held from 3:30–5:00 p.m. and 5:45–7:30 p.m.
This year, conferences will have a special student-led format. Students will take an active role in sharing their learning, reflecting on their progress, and discussing their goals with their parents and teachers. We believe this format provides students with an opportunity to take ownership of their learning and gives families a meaningful look at their experience at Lincoln Junior High.
Students are expected to attend conferences with their parents and lead their conference presentation. Each conference should be approximately 15 minutes.
Report cards will be available as families enter the academic areas. Additional information will also be provided to families:
7th Grade: Graduation plans will be provided for parents and students to review and sign.
8th Grade: Families will receive information about graduation requirements, high school scheduling, and the importance of high school credit classes offered at LJH.
We look forward to seeing our families on October 20 and celebrating the learning and growth of our students!
October 10th-18th FALL BREAK NO SCHOOL
October 20th- LJH Parent Teacher Conferences 3:30
PCSC is once again excited to partner with the Zac Mago Foundation and the Marshall County Health Department to make heart screenings available to our students.
Date: October 29, 2026
Time: 5:30–8:15 PM
Location: Riverside Intermediate School Gymnasium
Pre-registration is encouraged as it helps us ensure proper staffing and keeps the screening process moving efficiently.
The screening takes only a few minutes and is simple, painless, and potentially life-saving.
Any PCSC student is eligible to participate.
We are grateful to the Zac Mago Foundation and Marshall County Health Department for their continued partnership and commitment to the health and safety of our students.

Students may be dropped off beginning at 7:30 each morning. In the interest of student safety, all drivers should use the drop off lane when dropping off students. The drop off lane is accessed from Liberty Street near the Lincoln Educational Center. Please do not drop students off on Gibson street. The circle drive (door 1) will be closed this year to parents during drop off and pick up times. We appreciate parents following these important safety drop off procedures. Although the drop off line takes a bit of time it is rather efficient and safe for students.
