About the Artist
Hey ya'll, my name is Autumn Thompson and I am a mixed media artist based in Houston, Texas. I work with mediums such as fabrics (such as denim, flannel, drapery textile samples, etc.), paints, markers, braiding hair, and mixed media paper on canvas. Currently, I am in undergrad senior studying at Pacific Lutheran University as a double major in Art and Business with a focus in Accounting. After graduating, I plan on pursuing my masters in Accounting online and working as an Accountant while doing my art business, Cre"AT"ionz Mixed Media, on the side!
Artist Statement
“I would like you to reimagine what the world could look like through your life experiences to better represent and embrace yourself. I am always displaying how I navigate life on a daily basis and rethink what the world would look like to embrace myself while bringing awareness to how beautiful and proud I am to be unapologetically myself. I ask why do we not think about what makes something beautiful through media? What are these standards and how do we relearn on how to embrace what makes us different more often?”
