Pompton Lakes High School Fall Athletic Recognition

PLHS Parents/Guardians,

At the conclusion of the fall athletic season the coaches and student athletes usually come together for an evening to reflect and recap their respective season. Although the pandemic has precluded an in person fall sports recognition assembly I want to recognize our student athletes, coaches and the many people involved in making this season not only occur but an overall success.

First and foremost a thank you to the Board of Education, Dr. Amoroso, Dr. Przybylinski, Mr. Mattera, and the entire PLHS faculty and staff. Their support and understanding that athletics is an extension of the classroom allowed our student athletes to learn valuable life lessons while practicing and competing.

A big thank you to Jill our athletic trainer for guiding us through this very difficult medical time and keeping our kids on the field of play.

Our custodial and maintenance men for making sure our fields were ready to go each and everyday.

Thank you to the coaching staff for your time and dedication to the student athletes. You kept your student athletes safe by following all protocols but provided your athletes with a lifetime of memories.

Senior athletes you led by example and your team was better because of it. I hope if this was your final season in a Cardinal uniform you reflect back proudly on all of the memories you shared with your teammates and coaches.

Parents/Guardians, family members and the community as a whole. We thank you for your never ending support and being flexible with the many rules and regulations this past season presented. Your Cardinal spirit and pride was evident at each and every contest!

A few highlights of this past fall:

*All teams completed a full season of play (not many schools can say that)

*Nathan Armstrong 2x State Sectional Cross Country Champion

*Football Divisional League Champions

*Boys Soccer Group I Northwest Regional State Champions

All of the coaches below have shared highlights about their particular sport season. It is clear as you look at the different slides that this season as a whole was a success. Our school and community have a lot to be proud of.

I thank you again for your support of our athletic programs.

With Cardinal Pride,

Colleen M. Moyle

Athletic Director
