Our product is going to be a collection of poems that will capture the main learning points throughout this expedition. The children will split into groups or pairs and collaborate to write a poem on either of these aspects: How Doncaster expanded through the mining industry; the importance of coal during the Industrial Revolution; the life of victorian children who worked down the mines and finally what was so special about mining communities. Each class will be expected to write at least three poems so that every child contributes. The poems will be bound together and displayed in the KS2 corridor for other children in the school to read.
