Winter of Hope (6 December 2025)
This year’s Winter Fair, rebranded “Winter of Hope,” was an unforgettable event that brought our community together in the spirit of resilience and compassion. The fair took on a special significance as all profits were dedicated to supporting those affected by the Tai Po Fires. In the face of tragedy, we sought to create a sense of normalcy and togetherness for our families and friends.
The day began with a solemn minute of silence in remembrance, followed by heartfelt words from our principal and PTA. What followed was a vibrant celebration filled with delicious food and drinks, creative workshops, bustling markets, and joyful activities for all ages.
Our young students shone as budding entrepreneurs, eagerly setting up stalls to sell gently used and new toys, clothing, books, homemade baked goods, crafts, and more. Their enthusiasm was matched only by their determination as they negotiated sales and delighted in the market's friendly spirit.
Throughout the day, families enjoyed lively games such as pickleball, balance journey, catch the drop, and winter toss. Parents connected over laughter and conversation, while children played and explored the festive grounds.
The fair’s culinary offerings were as diverse as our community, featuring tempting treats and beverages from Western, Cantonese, Indian, and Japanese cuisines, truly something for every palate.
At the end of the day, a sense of peace and renewed hope filled the air. Together, we were reminded of the strength that comes from unity and compassion.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed, volunteered, or donated to make this year’s Winter of Hope a shining success.
Box of Hope (early November 2025)
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the wonderful volunteers who dedicated their mornings last week to preparing the "Boxes of Hope." Their care and effort in checking each donation ensured that every box was packed with kindness and essential items.
Thanks to this incredible teamwork, all 180 boxes were successfully collected earlier this week. We are now one step closer to sharing warmth and support with those in need in our community. We hope the boxes reach their destinations soon, carrying with them the generosity and compassion of our school families.
Halloween (31 October 2025)
Our school's playground was transformed into a scene of festive frights and delightful costumes on 31 October 2025 for the much-anticipated Annual Halloween Parade. Students from all grades showcased incredible creativity, marching in a dazzling array of outfits—from classic superheroes and storybook characters to clever homemade creations and ghoulish creatures.
The excitement peaked with our traditional "Fear Box" activity, where brave children reached into mystery boxes to feel creepy-crawly surprises, eliciting squeals of laughter and good-natured shrieks from the crowd. The event was made even more special by the wonderful turnout of parents and families, who joined in the fun, captured memories, and enjoyed the community spirit.
Thank you to everyone—students, staff, and volunteers—who helped make this year’s celebration such a memorable and successful community event. We are already looking forward to next year's hauntingly good time!
Diwali (20 October 2025)
The HKCA PLK PTA proudly celebrated Diwali by transforming the school with vibrant colors and decorations. With the support of our whole PTA committee team and 4 dedicated volunteers, we brought festive spirit to life by funding and distributing delicious Diwali snacks, including sakkarpara and puri, for the children to enjoy.
A highlight of the event was a Diwali Bhangra Dance lesson, fully funded by the PTA, which saw enthusiastic participation from both teachers and students. This engaging activity allowed everyone to immerse themselves in the cultural significance of the festival while fostering a sense of community.
Children also had the opportunity to experience henna hand painting with child-safe, removable tattoos, adding to the festive fun. The joy and energy in the air were palpable as students learned traditional dance moves, celebrating not just the festival of lights but also the diverse culture within our school. Our efforts underscored our commitment to enriching the educational experience and fostering connections in our HKCA PLK community.
Our Mid-Autumn Festival celebration was a wonderful blend of creativity, tradition and interactive fun. The event featured a Mid-Autumn Design Competition where students showcased their talent through beautiful eco-friendly lanterns and imaginative clay creations. During the lunchtime activities, everyone enjoyed various mooncakes, trying to make snow-skin mooncakes, crafting festive magnets, and even role-playing as the legendary archer Hou Yi in an arrow-shooting game. It was a memorable occasion filled with cultural appreciation, hands-on experiences and joyful moments.
We extend
our sincere gratitude to all families and volunteers who contributed to making this event so special.
On September 29th, 2025, we launched an unforgettable Teachers’ Appreciation Week at HKCA PLK School, a celebration dedicated to the incredible educators who shape our future! From the very first moment, the spirit of gratitude was unmistakable. Teachers were welcomed with a vibrant banner and treated to a sumptuous breakfast featuring freshly baked pastries, bread, colourful fruit, rich coffee, and delightful cookies, a perfect beginning to a week dedicated to appreciation.
As the festivities continued, Thursday brought an extra special surprise. Each teacher and staff member received a charming little plant accompanied by a heartfelt note that read, “Thank you for helping me grow.” This token truly captured the essence of what our teachers do every day, nurturing the minds and spirits of our children.
But that wasn't all! To wrap up this heartwarming celebration, students and parents showed their appreciation by gifting their teachers with healthy snacks, such as delicious fruit bars, crunchy nuts, and more! This thoughtful gesture transformed into a delightful display of gratitude, as teachers were showered with a colourful assortment of snacks, touching notes and drawings from their students.
A special thank-you goes to our wonderful parents, whose generosity and enthusiasm ensured this year’s celebration was a resounding success. As the PTA, we firmly believe that our teachers deserve recognition every day for their dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment.
Here’s to celebrating World Teachers’ Appreciation today and every day!
The 2025/2026 Back to School Night was truly an unforgettable experience! It was heartwarming to witness so many parents coming together for this special event, made possible by the collaboration between the PTA and the school. This year introduced a fresh format that encouraged increased interaction among attendees.
The evening began with a mingling session in the hall, where families explored informative booths that highlighted the specialist teams, showcased the exciting Chinese program, and heard from the PTA about plans for the year. Attendees enjoyed delicious food and refreshments while mingling and connecting.
After the mingling, the principal extended a warm welcome, setting a positive tone for the rest of the night. Parents then had the chance to visit their child’s homeroom, where they met the teachers, explored the curriculum, and learned about outdoor education. They also received a sneak preview of the new school library, which generated excitement. This was a fantastic opportunity to gather essential information and forge meaningful connections in an inviting environment.
As the night drew to a close, everyone left feeling informed and connected, and we eagerly anticipated the next opportunity to come together.
